Most of our dresses and skirts can be machine washed in cold water and tumble dried on low. For our active styles - pieces made with moisture wicking, renew knit, quick dry, or Restore stretch fabrics - wash cold and hang to dry to preserve performance. Always check the care label on each piece for specific instructions.
Are Roots dresses & skirts good for layering into cooler weather?
Yes. Our midi and maxi dresses layer beautifully under cardigans, denim jackets and our sweatshirts for spring and fall. Ribbed knits and french terry pieces bridge the seasons well and a sweat-style dress with a pair of leggings underneath is a Canadian cabin-weekend staple.

We incorporate sustainable materials - organic cotton fibres, recycled fibres and our renew knit - across many of our dresses and skirts.
