Our sweats collections are made with organic cotton and recycled materials.

Our Sweats

We're committed to reducing our environmental footprint and making thoughtful material choices.
The Original Sweats™, The Cloud Sweats™ and The One collection is crafted with a conscious blend of organic cotton and recycled polyester.

Organic agriculture contributes significantly to the maintenance of biodiversity. This cotton is farmed with no harmful pesticides which helps sustain the health of ecosystems, soil and people. This helps us create a future where we can continue to grow and harvest cotton without harming the world, we live in.

Recycled Polyester is commonly made from recycled bottles, which gives them a greener endgame than going to a landfill. Utilizing Recycled Polyester instead of Virgin Polyester uses less energy, water and CO2.

By joining Leather Working Group (LWG), we support the action for sustainable and responsible leather production.

Our Leather

As a mindful brand, we understand the footprint associated with the leather industry. This includes overgrazing, land use concerns and deforestation, which contributes to the loss of biodiversity and compromises the soil's ability to capture carbon.

That's why we're proud to align ourselves with the LWG, an organization making significant strides in the industry. Committed to positive change, LWG focuses on improving leather manufacturing practices and fostering transparency.

By supporting the LWG, we join a movement dedicated to promoting sustainable and responsible leather production. Together, we contribute to a future where the leather industry harmonizes with environmental well-being.

Our Planet

Algonquin Park has informed our efforts and brand DNA since inception and, as a brand, nature informs our inspiration and the products we create. Over our 50+ years, we've partnered with organizations that help build a healthier future for people and the planet, like Evergreen and the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC). These partnerships are proof of our passion to protect and support our source of inspiration.

We are deeply committed to preserving the very landscapes that inspire us. In 2024, Roots has committed to a multi-year partnership with the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC). This is not just important—it is a natural extension of our mission and core values. Supporting NCC's efforts to conserve Canada’s forests, wetlands, and habitats is a commitment we proudly embrace.

Together, we will drive meaningful change and pave the way for a brighter, more sustainable future for everyone.
