We continue to move forward with our commitment to drive impactful and lasting change. We understand that this is an ongoing process, and we are committed to the journey.
We acknowledge that becoming a true ally and supportive voice for Diversity, Equality, Equity and Inclusion (DEEI) requires us to continue to build from the inside out.
We have developed a DEEI program called Together at Roots, which supports inclusion focused initiatives. Together at Roots is part of the People component of our Roots Cares program and it is driven by a focus on our internal and external communities.
As further steps, we have implemented baseline educational tools across our organization including a Cultural Calendar to inform our team members of the religious and cultural celebrations celebrated by our team members and providing DEEI training to all leaders across the organization.
We established a cross-functional Diversity, Equality, Equity and Inclusion council and committee, as well as a new DEEI Specialist role to advance our initiatives and commitments. These developments will facilitate listening and learning without our employees and facilities.
We believe taking concrete action is essential to driving change, and as a longstanding brand with nearly five decades of history, we are taking our responsibility of leading by example very seriously.
The heart of our partnerships and initiatives is the health and wellbeing of our internal and external communities.
We are committed to participating in racial and gender equity and supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ communities in all that we do. We strongly believe in supporting one another and building long-term partnerships with the communities where we live, work, and do business.
