Inspired by the shoe that started it all in 1973, the Sport Root is an updated version of our negative heel. Now made with a customizable insole system that can be adapted to your preferred heel height, making it a perfect fit for everyone.
  • Durable rubber outsole for better grip and slip resistance on any surface — wet, muddy or dry
  • Ribbed outsole for comfort and grip — a nod to the original outsole from 1973
  • Shaped to follow the natural foot form for maximum alignment and comfort
  • Strong, durable and waterproof Italian Nappa leather
  • Soft, comfortable and durable leather lining for breathability and moisture absorption
  • Organic cotton laces with a waxed surface to help them stay tied
  • Recycled Cork, EVA and open cell foam molded removeable insoles for a comfortable and secure foot position
  • Padded ankle support keeps foot warm and secure on colder days
  • Negative heel positioning: the heel is positioned slightly below the forefoot, gently stretching the calf muscles and reducing pressure on the foot

Our footwear is designed with durability in mind. Made from high-quality leather, they will last for years and can be repaired if needed. Full rubber outsoles ensure long-term wear, and leather uppers ensure eventual biodegradability when the footwear is at the end of its life.

LOOK AFTER ME
  • Application of a waterproofing spray is recommended to avoid stains or water spots
  • Avoid heavy wax, silicone, or oil based products as these will darken and clog the pores of the leather
  • Wipe off any dirt or dust with a damp soft cloth or sponge
  • Avoid the use of firm bristle brushes or scratchy sponges as these will damage the surface of the leather
  • Never soak the leather
  • Remove excess moisture with a dry soft cloth
  • For stains, use Roots Leather Cleaner to clean the leather
  • Follow up with a neutral or colour matched Nappa leather cream conditioner to restore colour and shine
Store in a dry, cool place, out of the sun. Do not wrap in plastic. Allow shoes to dry in between use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from They are very well made but didn't work for me The shoe is very well made and the leather is the finest quality. The insole options are nice for those who want them. I have waited years for Roots to bring back the negative heel shoe as I loved the originals that I had several pairs of. These, however didn't fit correctly and were uncomfortable on my foot. I probably need a wider size that is not available. My originals were suede and maybe they fit differently. I was very sad to have to return these shoes but will be watching for more options in the shoe to become available, i.e.; women's and men's sizing, just negative heel without the extra insoles and hopefully blue suede!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even better than the originals... I'm obsessed with these shoes. So comfortable and look so cool with everything, they are my new fall shoe, no doubt. I tried the neutral insole and the positive insole and ended up liking the positive one but still playing with that, love the insole system so I can customize for comfort. Super soft leather, loving these shoes!
