I bought it because I wanted free shipping on a pair of shorts. This little leather rectangle was supposed to be a glorified shipping coupon. Instead, Roots pulled off the greatest plot twist since Darth Vader. The moment I took it out of the package I was hit with that unmistakable smell of real, high-quality leather—the kind that makes you immediately start looking around your house for other things that should probably be made of leather. My wallet? Too ordinary. My TV remote? Needs a leather pouch. My hopes and dreams? Wrap them in Roots leather too. The craftsmanship is outstanding. The stitching is clean, the leather feels thick and durable, and it has that timeless quality that somehow looks even better the more you use it. It's the kind of item you'll find 20 years from now, still looking fantastic while telling younger leather products, "Back in my day..." Now I'm actively inventing reasons to carry it. Cables? In the pouch. Coins? In the pouch. Pens? In the pouch. Random treasures acquired during my travels? Straight into the pouch. If I could fit my lunch in it, I probably would. Roots has always made fantastic leather goods, and this little pouch is another reminder of why. What started as a way to qualify for free shipping somehow ended up being one of my favorite items in the order. 10/10. Would absolutely buy again. Though next time I'll probably end up spending even more money on leather... and somehow convince myself I'm actually saving because of the free shipping.
