However i don’t understand why the shoulder strap is removable (and is mentioned as such in the description) when there isn’t another optional (crossbody) strap to replace it! Why make it removable and describe it as almost a “perk” of the bag? Why would someone use this bag without a strap? It has even been designed to be extremely easy to remove the strap as the rings have a section where, by pressing them, they open so the strap can be removed. Like the previous reviewer, I am using a crossbody strap from another Roots bag (not everyone would necessarily have one). I am just a bit boggled as to why push the concept of the removable shoulder strap when there is no sensible reason to want to remove it if an optional strap is not provided. Hence four stars for the illogical (to me) angle. But a beautiful bag worth five stars or more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would purchase again Bought this because the shape of the opening of the banff bag was ripping up my hand on the zipper and the weight of the villager was too much. This opening is much easier to grab items, but I can still leave it unzipped without worrying about items falling out. It holds its shape well. I added a long strap from another purse and took off the shoulder strap. Slightly less space than the villager, and lighter overall due to less pockets and metal closures. Only one small pocket inside, big enough to fit my keys for easy access. Back of the purse is lined. Back outer zippered pocket is big enough for a phone. I purchased a separate zippered cervino pouch to keep smaller items from getting lost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving the Edie Shoulder Bag Cervino I just bought this bag in black and I love it. It is just a nice size. It has one main compartment with zipper closing. One outside zippered pocket. Holds all I need - wallet, keys, glasses, phone and a few smaller items. It is unlined but that does not bother me. Simple and classy. Leather is soft and lovely. If they made this bag in the same leather in Chocolate I would purchase another one.
