The Roots Emerging Creators Project (RECP) was born in 2021 of a desire to build upon our legacy of supporting the community. With RECP we shift our focus to include the apparel industry and the emerging talent within it.
Inspired by the vital, symbiotic relationship between plants, trees, and creatures in nature – communicating and collaborating to help each other, and thus the environment as a whole, flourish and thrive – we created RECP as an annual designer mentorship program to nurture and give exposure to emerging, changemaker brands led by creators from underrepresented community groups.
We are proud to announce the launch of RECP with our 2022 partners, Adidem Asterisks.
About Adidem
Adidem Asterisks* is a Toronto-based label with a multidisciplinary approach to design. Via an interest in art, global urban culture, and sports, a perspective approach to rudimentary design has been carved, transforming Adidem into a conscious creator of ready-to-wear objects and exhibitions.
