I feel it's a quality material...( Although I admit it pills at the inner thighs on me). I love these and this is my third pair! I purchase one pair each year ( I should buy two), once they wear thin... (I tend to poke holes in the material as I wear pointed nails), I start looking for them to come out again! They are like a legging and a sweat in one!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Incredible but disappointed in quality I bought these pants in both the solid black and speckled black in november. I bought both in size xxl. I have had dozens of roots sweat pants over the past 30 years but these have been the worst quality. The speckled pair developed holes in the legs by the crotch within two months. The whole area is now one gigantic hole and I have had to throw them out. The black ones got a huge rip in the leg. I wore both pants once a week on the weekends. I’m very disappointed in the quality. I can’t even buy replacement ones as for some reason the xxl are only made in the fall.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Thin Material I bought a couple pairs of these pants previously in the black and green and LOVED them. They were my all time favourite pants. So I decided to buy a couple more pairs and the quality is not the same at all. The salt and pepper colour is so thin and see through that I wouldn't be able to wear them in public. For $68 I expect my pants to hide my underwear effectively. I'm extremely disappointed to see the quality of these pants deteriorating from the last time a purchased them just a few months ago.

I actually bought a second pair (both black) as the first was so perfect. They are just the thing for winter, but you could definitely wear them on a cool summer night, too.

I'm so happy with my purchase, as it keeps me warm in sub-zero temps, and looks great with tunic sweaters & sweatshirts, too! Although there is an inner drawstring at the waist, it is still a bit roomy, and the length is long which requires me to cuff the hems when wearing it with my ankle boots. Still, I would purchase another pair, but in a different colour (eyeing the Black Pepper!). For reference, I am 5'4", 117 lbs., and purchased size Small. Thank you Roots, as I can always count on you!! :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slim-Fitting But Comfy I love these pants. A cross between leggings and joggers, they're slim fitting (so they look great with tunic-length tops) but comfy. They're perfect for around the house during the cold seasons, and although they're a bit pricey, they're worth it, as they wash well and the quality is great. Please don't ever stop making them.
