Roots ruined a beautiful thing by adding an extra inch of leather to each finger tip, making the fit terrible and charging the consumer more for the gloves now that they are using more leather.

Well, I wasn’t going to be left behind, so I bought a pair for my hubby and myself!! Love them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sizes Run Large I normally wear a size 8.5 glove to fit a palm circumference of 8.5", or about 215mm. This is usually a medium size but, per Roots' Size & Fit recommendations, I purchased small-sized gloves. Even so, I found they have extra room in the palm which, after three years of wear, has allowed the palm to rub against my hand and cause a hole to form in the cashmere lining. This issue aside, the lining is soft and warm. Being cashmere, it is also hypoallergenic. The deerskin leather is buttery-soft and luxurious enough for the price. The points (seam lines across the back of gloves) are an especially nice detail. Overall, these are decent gloves and have been my first choice for daily wear for the past few winters. Despite the failing lining, Ièm sure these gloves will serve me well for more years yet to come.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fits large Every glove I have every bought is a large, which fits snug on my hands. The large on these would be extra large for any other glove. I went to my local Roots store and tried on the "Nappa" gloves that they sell, the Nappa extra-large is tighter than the large for these Cuff gloves. Otherwise the leather is extremely soft, and the wool/cashmere is very comfortable. I'll be returning my large for a medium.
