In 1992, over 25 years ago, we introduced the Roots TUFF Boot. Inspired by the authentic look of durable work boots, we developed this lighter-weight boot that combines rugged style with modern comfort. Made with quality materials and waterproof waxy nubuck leather to keep you comfortable for your everyday adventures.

Two Versatile Insoles for Your Journeys
Comes with our City insole for a more contoured fit for thinner socks, and our less contoured Cabin insole with more room for a thicker sock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality, but… I just received the natural coloured tuff boots, and the quality of the leather is excellent and waterproof. After trying on these shoes, they instantly felt very comfortable and not heavy, which will make walking in boots feel light and easy. They fit true to size and no break in necessary. However, I was not expecting the natural tan leather to look as dark as they do. On the website, the natural leather looks mahogany-brown, but in person it’s more of a chocolate brown colour. I would have preferred a more lighter brown leather, so I may have to go to a store to see how the boots look in person. But I still look forward to wearing these and hoping they will prove to be durable.

They’ve been a daily boot, hiking boot, and even my sons boots for a couple of years as he grew up. The tread is still as intact as the day I got them. They are still waterproof and still worn through our cold Canadian winters everywhere I go!
