For use:
1. Shake the bottle well
2. Spray the leather to dampen the surface at a distance of 10-20 inches
3. Allow to dry for no less than 1 hour
4. Take a large sponge and rub over the surface to renew the finish

That is the reason for the 4 star rating. Product was easy to use. I used it on my purse and have not had the purse exposed to moisture yet but am sure it will protect it
