The fit is awkward and boxy. The material is not soft, in fact it feels worn out but not in a true vintage way. Last year or vintage Beaver Canoe fit better. Waste of $100

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love Colour, Still Deciding on the Fit I love the colour, not sure about the gender free fit. Still trying to decide if I want to keep it or return it. It has been sitting in the bag. It isn’t overly soft like the other sweatshirts I have from Roots.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sizing I bought the Raven large sweatshirt and felt like I could fit three of me in there. I'm 5"11 - 185 lbs and I always get a large from Roots. I have the hoody in large and it fits well but the crew neck has a different cut. Sadly I had to return it. Medium was too short in the body.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the style, but hate the Gender Free sizing Last summer I bought 2 of this style Beaver Canoe sweatshirt, and really loved them. I wear mine all the time. This spring I found myself wishing I had bought some of the other colours offered last year and was so excited to see this return. I love everything about it except the Gender Free sizing. I've tried this kind of sizing several times with Roots clothes and it just doesn't work for me. Women and men are shaped differently, even when it comes to oversized gear. The big boxy shoulders puff up awkwardly because I don't have broad shoulders. The sleeves are too long, and I would have liked it looser in the chest as well, to match the rest of the oversized look. I should have known better but took a chance. Just leaving this review hoping that Roots will consider the Beaver Canoe line for next summer incorporates both Men's and Women's sizing instead of Gender Free. If these crews had been sized like last year's set, I probably would have bought nearly all the colours offered. If someone has a gender-free body type and likes this style of fit, I will say these are great sweatshirts and wash really well.
