After using it for a few months there are definitely a couple of things I would change though. I wish the centre pocket had double zippers so it would be easier to use. I find it awkward with the single zipper since it’s close to the strap clip. I also wish the magnet closures were stronger because they don’t stay shut even with just my cell phone and keys in the pocket. Overall it’s a great quality bag.

The bag is well made with gold hardware and feet at the bottom of the bag, however, I do wish there were finishes on the raw edges of the leather sewn together (ie: like the noodles that help finish an edge of a purse or the vinyl finish that covers the raw edge of the handle). Overall, this purse will last forever but this is a casual purse for weekend outings because of how it is sewn together. The leather is beautiful.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JLDurnford from Looks great, awkward to use. I really like the triple-compartment design, and there are ample pockets and zippers that help to keep things organized. I LOVE the colour and quality. However, as others have posted, the magnets that hold the two outside compartments together are not very strong, so if you have much in there, it pulls open. Also, the shoulder strap clips onto opposite sides of the main zipper, making it awkward to unzip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by hamont from as great as usual I have use it constantly for about half year now. reliable leather quality and hardware stay as new as they were. I dont have the problem with the magnetic closure on each side as long as its not pretty full on the sides. One thing i would complain is the bag can get slouchy if i not stuff to much in it and tend to lose the shape.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Grazie from Nice bag I bought this bag few weeks ago, lot of room and slots to put my papers, coupons, phones, keys etc. Great to carry the bag in three different ways. I find it hard to find the zipper. I would suggest to have a two-way zipper for the middle slot.

Although the leather is your typical great quality leather and I love the sand colour for its basic neutrality, my issue/frustration is that the magnets on both sides are not very strong. The result is that even with only a couple of smaller items in the side compartment’s they gape open, making the bag look sloppy and “undone” while also leaving your contents exposed. If it hadn’t been a final sale I’d be returning it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ridermom from Leather is Lovely! I was given this bag as a Christmas present and like it very much. It has great space and the leather quality is very high. My only reservations are the strap - a bit too narrow for the size of the bag, especially when full; when the outside pockets of the bag is full, the magnets don't close and you could loose your stuff; lastly, the off-set strap crosses the zipper and can be a bit of a pain to open when the strap is off your shoulder.

The strength of the magnets and uneven stitching makes me question if Roots is reviewing their quality control. I own many roots bags and I have never seen the decline in the quality as in the lastest Mont Royal bag. The price was great and delivery was excellent. I'm keeping the bag. However I will make sure that the next bag is bought and inspected in-store and not online.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nori RB from Love this bag especially as a mom! This is my third Roots bag and I purchased it because I love tribe leather and colour. I really like the versatility of toting it around but especially as a cross body to keep my hands free when on the go with my baby boy. My main reason to purchase was that there is a secure middle compartment that’s zippered and the outer compartments are easy to access. I even added some things to personalize it to my boho chic vibe. The only thing I find needs to be fixed is the easy access compartments need much stronger magnets. When I wear cross body, the magnet doesn’t hold and it gapes open... if Roots could replace it with stronger magnets or something to keep it shut it would be greatly appreciated. Other than that, this back is amazing, beautiful and functional! Great as a bag for moms and for traveling :)

This one is beautifully designed and is the largest I own. It has large compartments with inside pockets for change, lipstick, etc. The centre zippered space is great for things you don’t use all the time but need to have with you like reusable shopping bags, spare feminine product, baby wipes, etc. The 2 sides are super easy to access with a magnetic closure. I’ve tipped my bag over many times and the magnetic closure has stayed closed preventing my stuff from falling out. Great bag. I got it in the sand colour and the photos honestly don’t do it justice. It’s so beautiful.

I can fit everything from my umbrella to my book and my sunglasses case that my friend joke is as fat as a sub sandwich container. I can also fit a water bottle, and my gloves in winter. Plus my new large Roots wallet... The lining is thick and good quality too, which is important to me. A zippered pocket keeps personal stuff secure. My only complaint is that I wish the magnetic side closures were snaps instead, as they often gape open otherwise.
