Timeless!!
This bag is seriously worth purchasing!! There’s nothing I don’t love about it!! The only downside is I wish I could have bought the large sized one.. but being that I’m only 5”2 I had to go with the smaller as the large was almost as big as me .. Don’t question buying this bag!! JUST DO IT NOW!!
And it’s only going to get BETTER with age and use!!

You gotta smell it to understand
If you think this bag is over priced, I promise you’re wrong. It’s craftsmanship and attention to detail is unlike anything you’ll see these days. Roots truly stuck to their “roots” with this one. Just a classic, well made, absolutely gorgeous duffel bag! This’ll live for ages and I can’t wait to see how it grows. If you don’t have one today, make sure you have one some day.

Exceptional Quality
I have brought this bag to the cottage, through airports and pretty much everywhere else I have stayed/visited since 2013. I have got way to many compliments to even try to remember. Well made, durable, neutral colour-tribe. Luv it so much I bought one for my daughter and will the other children in years to come. Would I recommend this bag, absolutely!

I bought this as a gift for my husband. He absolutely loves it! It was difficult to gauge the size of it compared to the 'large' Banff bag, but it's just the right size for carry-on. My only complaint (if you can even call it that) is that the leather is much softer than expected, making the sids of the bag fall in, unless it is packed. I assumed from the pictures that the leather was quite firm/hard (like some purses) and would stand up on it's own, but it's very soft and pliable. Care instructions would have also been helpful, as I suspect it will need to be treated to protect the leather.

Gorgeous and roomy!
I bought this as a carry on piece and I needed a soft piece of luggage for the yacht we will be staying on (limited space) in Bahamas. This is perfect and fit all the clothes I am taking. The leather is gorgeous.

love it!!
Such a nice bag! perfect carry on size and soft. so easy to get it into those overhead bins. The only thing is the strap is designed for someone much taller than me and the first time I carried it, it hung uncomfortably low. I have since punched an extra six holes into the strap and it should be okay for next time. Love this bag!

My favourite travel bag!
I bought this bag a few years ago and I use it all the time - from weekends away to longer stays in Europe (I'm tiny so I can fit quite a lot in it!). I've only had one issue with airlines saying it was too big to count as a carry-on, but I just took a sweater out and it fit fine into their measuring rack. The leather is amazing and still looks good as new.

Perfect bag for two nights away. Stylish and great quality. Airline carry on friendly. The tribe tan colour finish is more "raw" than the black and requires protection. Judging from other reviews this bag should stand the test of time.

Shoulder Strap Too Long
Everything about this bag is on point except if you're a shorter guy like me, because the shoulder strap is designed like a belt, even if you adjust it so that it's on the closest hole, it's still too long. I suggest bringing it to a cobbler to add more holes to the strap to get it to the right length.

The perfect gift, the perfect weekend.
I purchased this bag for my husband as an anniversary gift this year. He had his eye on this one for a while as well as a bag from Fossil. I chose this one because he loved the feel and texture of the bag and it truly reflected his style.
The salesman offered excellent assistance at the Halifax Shopping Centre location. He provided the advantages of purchasing a Roots bag and explained the difference between the leather. He also sold me on the leather protector spray.
It felt like a great purchase and my husband was so surprised and felt special to finally have a great bag for our short excursions. I gave it to him while we were celebrating our anniversary on a weekend trip to the city. He threw out his old bag and his belongings made themselves comfy in his new Roots bag.

Love this bag!
This is a great bag. I would highly recommend it to women travellers, because it is lighter than the other Roots travel bags. My husband has the small Tribe Banff bag which is a little bigger. Both are great for carry on when flying. We love them.

Absolutely Amazing!!
I spent last year abroad living in the UK and I traveled all over Europe with this bag. Its has enough room to fit five days worth of clothes, and small enough that it is not a nuisance to travel with. I highly recommend this bag!

I've been looking for a nice duffel bag for quite some time. I've already got a couple of the roots leather bags, so I know how good the quality is. This bag is gorgeous. I want to sit and look at it all day. The leather is beautiful, it looks great, feels great, smells great, probably even tastes great. If you're on the fence about getting this bag, GET IT. It'll only get better with age, more of an investment. My one qualm is that the shoulder strap didn't have enough holes, but I went to my local leather worker and he punched some in there no problem.

It stands the test of time
I bought my Banff Tribe bag about 20 years ago on a ski trip to Canada. It has seen a lot of hard usage and still looks as good as when I bought it, maybe better because I like its rugged looks and the leather has aged well. It is just the right size for weekend trips. However, I am really writing to complement the great company service. The fabric next to the zipper ripped, so I sent it back to Roots Canada for repairs. It came back with a new zipper and the repair looked like a new bag. They even waived the repair fee and shipping because the repair took a couple of weeks longer than they promised. I will have this bag forever, and I'm sure that my kids will want it after me. These days, it is nice to have a company that cares and stands behind their product.

Excellent Weekender for Carryon!
Although I have the XS Banff Bag-Tribe, which I prefer, there isn't a page of it on the Roots site so I mentioned it on its small size Banff Bag-Tribe page as the looks and quality are the same! I am very happy and just complemented it by buying the Banff Travel Kit Tribe.

Love love love
Somebody had this bag in large at a getaway. I loved it immediately. Live nation was being sponsored by Roots and this person was lucky enough to be a recipient of one of the bags. I kept it in mind for my husband's 50th birthday present six months later. He always complained that he didn't have a nice bag. Well, now he does! Since he was a total bummed out grump on his birthday, I didn't give it to him until the next day when he snapped out of his stupor about turning 50. He was absolutely thrilled. He loved the quality, look and feel. He has already used it once and it is perfect! Thanks Roots for such a quality bag! What I would love to see for me would be a smaller hands free purse with a built in wallet and good thought to other compartments for things like keys and iPhones. I'll keep checking for one! PS I looked for his bag to take a picture of,it for this review and couldn't find it anywhere. Usually he leaves his bag, still packed, beside the bed and never unpacks it. I hunted and found it unpacked in the flannel pouch that comes with it up in the closet! That never happens! I guess I picked the right present! He truly loves it! Thanks Roots!

Best Investment
I've been eyeing this bag for over a year and I finally managed to pick it up during one of Roots customer appreciation events. The bag is simply amazing. Having the Tribe briefcase to match, this weekend bag is ideal when hoping around town or for a weekend getaway. Fits within the carry-on specifications for a weekend flight and great for a 3 night stay.
Highly recommend to carry it often as the leather gets softer and gives it that "vintage" feel and look over time.

niffty knitting bag
I've had my Banff bag or a long time and I've always wanted to show it off more often than just for traveling. It has now become my knitting bag, the perfect size for even my largest projects, room for all my wool and any other knitting paraphenalia I need. Plus there is room left over for my Village Pack or one of my smaller Roots bags.The inside zipper pocket and slip pockets keep everything organized. There is no more hiding this Banff Beauty.

A great bag for getting away
I put a lot of thought into purchasing a weekender bag, and decided on the Small Banff Bag for several reasons. This bag is durable and well-crafted. The stitching has not strained with use and the zipper pulls smoothly every time. I was drawn to this bag in the store because it has a timelessly classic design, and I love how the Tribe leather ages to show new patterns. It definitely completes any travelling ensemble!
Best of all, the Small Banff Bag is the perfect size for all kinds of getaways. It has the capacity to store everything you need for a stay of several days, but is easier to transport than a suitcase. I think it would work as a carry on bag for some flights, too.
My only issue with this bag is that the shoulder strap was too long for me even on its shortest setting ( I am 5'8). I fixed this by drilling more holes in the strap for the buckle to clasp into.

Great Travel Bag
This is a great bag for traveling. I use it when I have to travel for work.
