The top/hoodie, however, was a good match and true to my usual size. Disappointed, as the pants really don’t fit well (even one of the ankles keeps on slipping down past the heel of my foot which doesn’t seem right).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overpriced status symbol I've been on a quest to find the perfect sweatpants - fleecy, soft, non-joggers, no drawstring, thick material - and after hearing so many good things about Root, decided to give them a try. I really wanted to love these sweatpants but they're honestly average to meh. Maybe I overlooked this detail but I thought this style of Root sweatpants had no drawstring, but they do in fact have the drawstring. It's a minor detail, I was simply looking for a style of sweatpants that stayed up well without the need of a drawstring. This style has a fit like that of low-rise jeans unless you tie the drawstring. If these sweatpants last 10+ years I could see the price being justified, but otherwise they don't stand out from most other sweatpants I've worn. They're not exceptionally soft inside or thick, nor are they scratchy and thin. Perhaps my own fault for having expectations at all, but I expected to be wow-d and I wasn't.
