Original Sweatpant

Rated 2 out of 5 by Amo1233 from Comfy but pilling. Comfort is not an issue, but the price you're paying is not worth the quality you receive. I've worn my brand new sweats 3 times and they are already pilling. I've bought sweats from Wal**** for less then $20 that are in better shape.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Lisa342 from Bad Quality Although very comfortable, quality is definitely an issue. My sweatpants are not very old, and I am already seeing piling/wear (and I have always followed the proper washing instructions....) Definitely not worth the price for the quality that you get.

I bought my first pair of roots sweatpants about a week and a half ago, as I was going to be travelling on a plane for long hours so I wanted something comfortable to wear. While I will not deny how comfortable they really are, I have only worn them twice, once while I was traveling (sitting on a plane) and I have noticed a considerable amount of piling between the thighs as well as my hem coming apart.. I am very disappointed, especially since they are very expensive, you would like to know that they will last long without this issue... I could understand if I had purchased them a long time ago, but only wearing them twice? Mmmmm really not impressed...

Rated 2 out of 5 by Jhms from Buyer beware - what everyone is saying is true! I had read the recent reviews on the changes in quality, but decided to take a chance because I wanted a backup set. I definitely should have listened to what everyone was saying! The quality is very different. Material is noticeably thinner and softer, and as a result it does not feel like it is going to hold up like my old sweats have. Also, because the material is different, the pattern/salt and pepper effect is also different. It's not a huge difference, but I do notice it when I'm wearing my old sweats paired with the new ones. I suspect it's because the actual thread looks like it's thinner on the new sweats, and therefore makes the salt and pepper effect much softer and less heather-like. I also agree with another poster in saying to check the sizing before you buy. I found these sweatpants run smaller than they used to, but strangely the top I bought seems to be bigger. These will definitely be the last set I buy unless Roots brings their old quality standard back! Very disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by DeeNS from Not the same as before I bought the grey salt and pepper original sweatpants and they are not made from the same quality fabric as before. They are thinner now and fuzzier, as in they seem to have a more polyester-like feel to them. I don't find they feel as comfortable now. Luckily my original s&p sweatpants are still going strong, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to have a second pair. I think I'll just stick with my first pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brit120 from long-lasting I've had a pair since 2013, and they still are perfect. I think the sizes have changed, because I have an xs, and now looking at the measurements, I should be wearing a medium. So look at the sizing guide before purchasing
