Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect oversized sweatshirt I've been looking for a well-made, oversized sweatshirt in a dark green for a while and was so happy to find exactly what I was looking for at in this sweater! I'm 5'8" ~120lbs and purchased size 2 in Green Shadow. I'm typically a size S in Roots clothing. The fit is definitely a bit large, but this is what I was looking for, so for a tighter fit you could probably size down. Torso length is great, especially because the style now for women is cropped/short. It is baggy in the torso though--but for an oversized sweatshirt it works perfectly! Fit is as it is shown on the female model (wearing a size 2 as well). Absolutely love the dark green colour, even though it's a bit darker than how it appears online. I like the use of a much more subtle logo/brand name as well. I've had it for a few days and it's so cozy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gender free, shape free I bought this sweater in December 2021, so I've had it for long enough to wear it in. The quality is excellent - it still looks as almost as good as it did new even though I dry it on a higher than recommended temp and don't wash with like colours etc. That said, I've never worn this sweatshirt in public because it just looks sloppy on my body. The shoulder seam sits half way between my shoulder and my elbow, the sleeves dangle inches past my finger tips. It does fit in the torso, though, which is why I bought it. (I mean: a nostalgia for late 90s Roots, plus a size that actually, nearly, fit my fat adult body.) My particular issue with it - the reason for 3 stars, not 4 or 5 - is that "gender free" sizing means it fits almost no one. I am certain there is some perfect human who fits each of the 8 sizes, but it's just not the case that as people get fatter, their shoulders also get wider and their arms get longer. Conversely, as people get thinner their shoulders don't get narrower and their arms shorter. So just as my size 7 sweater has to be rolled up three times in order to keep my hands free, there is likely some size 2 out there with sleeves pulling above their wrist bone. Not slapping a gender identifier on a piece of shaped cloth is a fine ideal, but not all bodies on the gender spectrum can be forced into the same piece of cloth without most of those bodies looking approximately sack-shaped. There must be some better way of un-gendering clothing without taking away the shaping that helps clothes fit bodies better. Maybe instead of mens and women's sweaters, they could be sold from the same page with descriptions of what actually makes them different - Sweater X fits a body with wider shoulders, longer arms, narrower hips; Sweater Y fits a body with narrower shoulders, a fuller chest, wider hips?
