Tips for Writing A Review

Star Ratings
There is a five-star rating scale for each product. One star is the lowest rating and five stars is the highest. Click on the star you wish to rate the product overall. You will also be asked to rate the look, feel and quality of the product.

Your Stats
You will also be asked to answer a few quick questions that will help other customers who read your review make a more informed decision. This includes indicating personal traits such body type, age and location.

Review Moderation
All reviews are read and moderated to ensure they follow our guidelines. We will reject any content that include: advertisements or references to other offers or websites, spam, contact information or objectionable language, or if you have feedback regarding customer service. Any feedback regarding customer service can be directed to the team who will be more than happy to help.

FAQs

1. Do I have to purchase a product to review it?
No. You can also try a product on in the store and then review it.
2. What if the product I want to review isn’t on roots.com?
Search and select a similar product. In some cases, items are identical in style and materials. They are just in a different colour.
3. Can I write more than one review for a product?
Unfortunately no. We only allow you to write one review per product. But you can review as many products as you like.
4. I wrote a review but it’s not on the site. Why not?
All ratings and reviews take up to 72 hours before they become visible on the site. Once you write your post, a team reviews the post to ensure that the post meets our content guidelines. Once approved, your review will be posted on the site.
5. Here are some tips for a great review
Include the following:
  • Why you bought the product (e.g. Needed something for a trip)
  • How it feels when you wear it (e.g. Soft, comfortable, light)
  • How it fits (e.g. Snug, loose, perfect!)
  • The longevity and quality of the product (e.g. Bought it a year ago and it still looks like new!)
  • What your favourite feature is (e.g. The detail around the cuffs)
  • Or what you’d change if you could! (e.g. Wish it could be bit longer)
A review that contains any of the following types of content will not be posted:
  • Obscenities, discriminatory language, any language not appropriate for public forums
  • Advertisements or references to other offers or websites
  • “Spam” content
  • Any content which you don’t own or for which you don’t have the right to distribute
  • Contact information such as email, mail or physical addresses, or phone numbers
  • Negative feedback and comments towards other reviewers posted on the site
  • Customer service feedback or concerns, these are to be directed to the Customer Service Team directly
You can add a video to your review as well.

6. Can I edit my review after I have submitted it?
Unfortunately no. But you can email a request to remove the review. Just be sure to provide the product you reviewed, the review title, your name, profile nickname and reason for the removal request.
7. Why do I have to create an account online to post a review?
An account is required to rate and review a product. Having an account has many benefits. With an online account your shopping experience is made easier by storing your addresses, billing information and allows you to look up your status of current and past orders all in one place!

  • 1. At the centre top of the roots.com home page you will see a link that says Register. Click and you will be taken to our account registration page.
  • 2. Visit roots.com to find the product you want to review. Below the product name is a link to "Write a Review". When you click on the link to write a review, you will be prompted to enter your account login registration or to create an account. Once you are logged in you will be able to continue your product review.
9. What if I had an account but don’t remember my login?
On the account login page, directly below the login fields is the link “Forgot your password?” Clicking on this will bring you to a new page that will ask you to submit your email address. Your password will be emailed to that address.
10. What do you do with my personal information?
