APRIL 7

International
Beaver Day

We celebrate this special day dedicated to honouring the beaver, an iconic symbol of Roots for over 45 years.

Our Roots

Inspired by their passion for the outdoors, Michael Budman and Don Green founded Roots in 1973. Since the very beginning, the beaver has served as our beloved logo and an expression of our love for nature. Not only an emblem of Canada, the beaver plays an important role in the Canadian ecosystem as a community builder. Their ponds provide habitat for other wildlife and can help reduce the impacts of climate change.

The Cooper Beaver

We’ve partnered with long-time friend of Roots and renowned Canadian artist Heather Cooper to create a limited-edition collection in honour of the beaver and Canadian wildlife. Heather is one of the artists behind our Cooper Beaver logo, an iconic symbol of Roots since 1973.

Nature Conservancy

We are proud to partner with the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC), Canada’s leading not-for-profit, private land conservation organization. NCC and its partners help to protect our most important natural areas and the species they sustain.
