– Today at the Retail Council Conference, Roots Co-founder,
Michael Budman announced the opening of the 'Roots Boutique' at
10 Fouberts Place, just off the historic Carnaby Street in London,
England.
A unique feature of 'Roots Boutique' is the showcasing of Roots
'Team GB' collection. As an Official British Olympic Association
Sponsor and the Official Outfitter of Parade Wear, Roots will be
outfitting the Great Britain Olympic Team during the 2004 Athens
Summer Olympic Games at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies as well
as keeping the Team fashionable while travelling.
The public can now show their support for and pride in their British
Olympians by wearing pieces from the Roots Official 2004 Great Britain
Olympic Collection featuring men's and women's T-shirts, ringer
T's and tanks, sweat tops and bottoms, track jackets, headwear,
footwear, and accessories including a hand-tooled leather carrying
bag. A percentage of the proceeds will go towards supporting British
Olympic hopefuls.
Michael Budman, Roots Co-founder, said today "In opening the
Roots Boutique in London, we wanted to give the British community
accessibility to the uniforms worn by their Olympic heroes. We want
to encourage the public to support their team by wearing items from
the 'Team GB' collection and to feel a part of their team's successes
at the 2004 Athens Summer Olympic Games".
'Roots Boutique' will also carry a range of Roots products. Roots
Boutique will be open 7 days a week (Mon.-Weds. 10 am -8pm, Thurs.-Fri.
10am - 9pm and Sat. 10am- 7pm and Sun. 12pm- 6pm)
Roots is also proud to be the Official outfitter of the Canadian,
United States and Barbados Olympic teams. Items from the 4 Olympic
Collections are available in Roots stores across Canada, and on-line
