TORONTO - Singing star Justin Timberlake visited the Roots flagship store in Toronto on 100 Bloor Street West on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 during a brief stopover in the city. Timberlake has long been a fan of Roots since his *NSYNC days, having often worn Roots clothes while on tour and at the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City in 2002.
The 23-year old pop icon was in town to take part in a charity basketball clinic with members of the Toronto Raptors at a downtown youth centre. The event, which also involved Grade 8 students from a local school, was aimed at promoting the importance of active lifestyles among young people.
During his visit to the Roots store on Bloor Street, Timberlake purchased numerous items including a Roots leather jacket, some Roots official Olympic apparel and other products. He later posed for a photograph with Roots employee Anisha Pillay.
