– Roots is pleased to be hosting its 5th Annual Charity Golf
Classic at Angus Glen Golf and Country Club in Markham. Funds raised
will benefit the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and the Canadian Olympic
Committee, the event will take place on Thursday June 10th, 2004
and promises to be a fun and exciting day.
In keeping with the Olympic theme, participants can look forward
to a variety of Olympic demonstrations, including Archery with Olympian
Rob Resnoff, Fencing, and Gymnastics. After a day on the greens,
each of golfers will be entertained by Torontonian funnyman David
Merry. David has well over 5 000 performances to his credit. His
credentials include appearances on "SCTV", "BIZARRE"
and "An Evening at the Improv. David is currently the host
of Global TV’s hit sports trivia game show "Game On!"
which comes on immediately after NFL football every Sunday. David
is also the host of Global TV's "Get a Grip on Golf",
a golf show that can be seen coast to coast in Canada, on Sunday
afternoons at 3:00 p.m. People expected to be in attendance include
former hockey players Mike Pelyk, Bob Lorimer, Day Daoust and Rick
Vaive.
As a result of last year’s Charity Golf Classic, Roots successfully
raised over $150 000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.

this year’s two charities.
