Following his formidable performance at the just-concluded Winter Olympics in Torino, US speed skating sensation Apolo Ohno is the toast of America. Ohno, who won three medals including a Gold Medal in Torino, is in great demand, the focus of great media interest. The latest was recently when he appeared on both "The Ellen Show" and on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno".
While in Los Angeles, Ohno made a special appearance at the Roots store in Beverly Hills. Ohno signed autographs at the store in the afternoon, and met his many devoted fans and members of the media who lined up around the block for the opportunity.
His one Gold and two Bronze medals in Torino follow his Gold and Bronze medals at the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City. In addition, Ohno has won five World Cups, and the over all World Cup title in 2005. Off the ice, this colorful, highly gifted athlete is an author and was voted one of People magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People."
