TORONTO - Roots congratulates Canadian athlete Adam van Koeverden on his latest international sports achievement. At the World Cup paddling event in Poland, van Koeverden won two Gold Medals yesterday, adding to his triumphs at last summer’s Olympics in Athens where he won Gold and Bronze medals
In Pozan, Poland, in his first international competition in 2005, van Koeverden beat the two men who finished ahead of him in the event in which he won the Bronze Medal in Athens. In the men’s kayak singles (K-1), van Koeverden defeated Olympic champion Eirik Larsen of Norway and Ben Fouhy of New Zealand, the Games Silver Medalist.
Van Koeverden, who is a friend of Roots Co-Founders Michael Budman and Don Green and appears in many of the current posters and ads for Roots, will be competing next at a World Cup event in Germany in June.
