New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg sported a Roots official USA Parade Hat as he was hosted by his Athens counterpart at a reception on Friday in support of the New York bid to host the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Athens Mayor Dora Bakoyianni held a reception for Bloomberg at the Athens Town Hall. She told Bloomberg that based on what the 2004 Olympics have already done for the Greek capital, she was confident the 2012 Summer Games would also prove an incredibly positive development for New York.
She wished Bloomberg much success in his efforts to have New York host the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. During the event, Alex Anne Budman presented Bloomberg with a USA Olympic Parade Hat.
Worn by American athletes at the Opening Ceremonies in Athens, the hat is designed and made by Roots Canada and is proving a hugely popular item in stores in the United States.
Alex Anne Budman is the daughter of Roots Co-Founder Michael Budman who is in Athens as part of Roots' extensive Olympic program. Roots is the official outfitter for the United States, Canada, Great Britain and Barbados at the 2004 Summer Olympics.
