Roots leather expert Karl Kowalewski traveled to Italy to hand-select only the most premium hides for this collection which in a relatively short time, has already had an unprecedented sell-through at Roots stores.

"This leather is exceptional," says Karl Kowalewski, who's been involved in designing and making Roots Genuine Leather products since Roots began in 1973. "The natural grain and texture of Naked Leather give it a beautifully distinctive look and feel. By keeping the leather in its original state, without applying lacquers or finishing chemicals, we keep it more transparent. This way, the bags are less uniform. To a certain degree, each one has its own character and is one of a kind."

Like all Roots Genuine Leather products, the Naked Collection was designed and made right here in Canada at the Roots Genuine Leather Factory in Toronto.

What is Naked Leather?
Most leather products contain dyes and added chemicals that produce a desired look and feel.  Roots Naked Leather is created with only pure dyes in order to preserve the natural integrity and appearance of the original hide.  The result is a unique leather with a "naked touch" and natural appearance.  Because of this simple, natural process, only the most premium Italian leather hides can be used to create Roots Naked Leather.
