TORONTO - Roots congratulates Canadian Olympic champion Adam van Koeverden on his latest achievements in international kayak competition. Over the weekend, he captured two medals in races at the World Canoe and Kayak Championship in Zagreb, Croatia.

In the men’s K-1 (kayak singles) 1,000-meter race on Saturday, Van Koeverden led most of the way, almost winning the Gold Medal, but missed out by a tiny fraction of a second to win the Silver Medal. On Sunday, he won the Bronze Medal in the 500-meter race.

Van Koeverden, who is sponsored by Roots and is a friend of Roots Co-Founders Michael Budman and Don Green, has won several medals this year in international competitions to add to his Gold and Bronze Medals at the 2004 Olympics in Athens. Currently, he appears in many of the Roots ads and posters.
