HEALTH TIP # 15

The latest in our series of easy ways to help you stay healthy

Maximize your mood and energy with optimal digestion: Two thirds of our neurotransmitters (the brain chemicals which affect our mood, concentration, and drive) are made in our intestines as a byproduct of the food we digest. Over 90% of our serotonin (the calming neurotransmitter) is made in our gut. The bottom line is if you want to feel your best, eat the highest quality foods for your metabolic type slowly, in a relaxed atmosphere and chew thoroughly. Consider taking probiotic supplements if your digestion is poor. These are the healthy bacteria that inhabit our gut and help us to properly digest our food.
